Our 14 Point Analysis considers the
following: (Natural organic methods that
are safe for children, pets and the
environment are available in most cases)
Type of Grasses and Condition:
Perennial grasses you now have that
are desirable. We also include a
note of overall condition of the
lawn.
Controllable Weed Grasses:
Annual grasses that are undesirable
such as crabgrass. Controlled by
preventing
their seed from
germinating with our pre-emergent
weed control application in early
spring.
Controllable Weeds:
Such as,
Dandelions which are
controlled in the spring and fall.
Hard to Control Weeds:
Weeds that may require multiple
applications to bring under control.
Summer Insects:
Surface feeding insects that cause
damage to your lawn during the
summer. Controlled through
applications and monitoring and we
guarantee results. If any damage
occurs to your lawn due to insects
we will pay to repair any damage.
Below the Surface Insects:
Grubs - these insects feed below the
surface of your lawn on the roots of
the grass. Usually occurring in the
spring and the fall. Controlled with
a special application.
Uncontrollable Wide Blade Grass:
Unfortunately these cannot be
controlled without harming the
desirable grass.
Diseases:
During certain weather conditions
diseases may occur. Proper cultural
practices usually provide adequate
control. If problems persist other
remedies will be discussed and a
treatment provided.
Other Problems:
Problems which might cause permanent
damage and require
minor reseeding.
Thatch
is a layer of living and dead
leaves, stems and roots just above
the soil. Too much thatch will
reduce a lawn's response to
fertilizers and affects watering
practices. Some thatch is not only
good but necessary to the overall
health of the lawn. Disease and
insect problems are greater
where
thatch is excessive.
Root Depth:
The depth of the plant below the
soil level. As a rule of thumb if
the grass is cut 2 3/4 inches then
the root depth should be the same.
The object is to maintain a root
depth as deep as possible to
maintain a healthy lawn.
Soil Type:
Knowing
the type and condition of your soil
will help determine your lawn's
needs. If soil is compacted,
core aeration
is recommended.
Depth to Clay:
The depth in inches to the clay
layer if any. In most cases this
layer is beneficial in preventing
rapid leeching of both moisture and
nutrient to a depth deeper than the
plant can reach.
